The Home Education & Loan Protection Program (HELP) provides peace of mind to home buyers by providing 24 months of mortgage counseling, education, and job loss protection. For a contribution of $500 to the Rainy Day Foundation, sellers benefit by making their home more attractive to potential buyers while their home being marketed.

• 24 Months of Buyer Counseling –
  The Rainy Day Foundation reaches out to home buyers within 72 hours of enrollment to introduce the program, explain the benefits, and provide financial counseling for up to two years.
• 24 Month Educational E-Newsletter –
  The Rainy Day Foundation e-newsletter provides sound financial tips and informational resources to assist the homeowner in maintaining financial stability.
• 24 Month Access to the Emergency Relief Fund –
  The Rainy Day Foundation's mission is to protect homeowners from unforeseen financial difficulties. Home buyers are provided access to the Foundation's Emergency Relief Fund, which is a general pool of funds not related to loss of employment.
• 24 Month Job Loss Protection –
  Provides up to 6 months of mortgage payments up to $1,800 per month during the first 24 months from date of closing if the borrower or co-borrower become involuntarily unemployed.

About the Rainy Day Foundation

The Rainy Day Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to assist individuals in maintaining homeownership.

The Job Loss Protection Program is part of the HELP Program, administered by the Rainy Day Foundation, which is intended to help buyers navigate the challenges of homeownership. The HELP Program provides voluntary financial and budget counseling to buyers via telephone and e-mail for the first 24 months following closing, as well as emergency counseling and grants to assist home owners during times of financial hardship.

The Rainy Day Foundation's HELP Program is void where prohibited by law and subject to cancellation without further notice. Certain restrictions apply. While Iowa Realty believes this Program could be of benefit to many homebuyers, each homebuyer must thoroughly review the details of the Program to determine its benefits and their eligibility.
