Iowa Real Estate School's 96-hour lecture and computer based pre-licensing course is divided into four parts. The entire course fee for all four parts is $495 with checks made payable to Iowa Real Estate School.
Part 1
12-hour lecture class on Iowa License Law.
Part 2
40-hour self-study textbook and computer disc training program.
Part 3
8-hour all day review class and scheduling to take the PSI exam.
The test is comprised of two parts; a 40 question state exam and an 80 question national. A passing score is 70% or higher is required on both the state and national portions.
Part 4
36-hour series of three 12-hour classes and included in the $495. However, if separately attended, the cost is $70 for each 12-hour session.

Part 4
These 36-hours of real estate practicum are divided into three 12-hour "live" lectures. Each course lasts two days (8:30-3:30). These classes may be taken in or out of sequence.

If your license is up for renewal the Iowa Real Estate Commission forwards a reminder in November. Licenses are renewed online at www.licensediniowa.gov. |
| Can I carry over hours from one licensing period to the next? |
No |
| How much of my 36 hours can be home study hours? |
24-hours |
| What do I do with the certificates I receive from taking a course? |
When agents renew they are not required to turn in certificates, but if audited, they must have them ready to submit to the Commission. |
| Does anyone keep track of all my education hours? |
There isn't a central bank of information where your class records are kept. You must keep track of them. |
| How do I get copies of my certificates if I have lost them? |
You must contact each school that sponsored the course. However, it is your responsibility to keep track of your certificates. |
